Nice to see two things we love coming together: Support for military families and beer brewing.
San Diego Magazine
.. mentioned the Devil’s forge in their BIG Craft Beer Guide.
“San Diego has more homebrewers per capita than most states. Several are making the leap to the big leagues, such as Wes McCann, who’s perfecting his recipes while searching for a site. ”
Searching for the right spot
For the past couple of months we have been looking for the proper location for the brewery. It turns out this has been a much more difficult endeavor than it appears on the surface. Physical location is not nearly as demanding in the brewing industry as in other industries such as retail or restaurant, but the facility itself must have all of the proper physical attributes.
These attributes include: size, floor type, drainage, water, power sources (electrical and gas, if using direct fire), sprinkler systems, ADA compliant bathrooms and entryways, and much more.
Anything that is needed and is not already in place will cost money, which means less money for other things like equipment, refrigeration, kegs, and more. As it currently stands, we have narrowed it down and hope to be moving forward with a location soon.
